Hot wire cutting machine for polystyrene (EPS/ XPS)

Create 2D and 3D polystyrene shapes with RM-PoliCut3D hot wire cutting technology. Thanks to its 6 interpolated axes you can achieve: splendid craftsmanship, cut polystyrene for industrial production and make rapid prototyping. With its easy-to-use wire cutting system, you can make polystyrene models very easily, without having to use complicated three-dimensional design software.

RM-PoliCut3D for cutting hot polystyrene wire

Clean and precise cuts on all types of polystyrene. The hot wire cutting technology allows you to cut both EPS expanded polystyrene and XPS extruded polystyrene. The numerical control automatically adjusts the temperature of the wire and allows you to cut even the densest and most compact XPS polystyrene blocks.

High performance hot wire cutting machine

The structure of RM-PoliCut3D is made up of a reinforced aluminum frame which keeps the machine rigid, ensuring perfect axes alignment. The forex worktop with aluminum structural supports can support heavy and large blocks.

In the upper part there are fixing supports to keep the work area free and ensure the retention of long and thin pieces.

Hot wire cutting technology

The cutting technology of RM-PoliCut3D consists of a resistant 0.25 mm diameter NiCr alloy wire capable of cutting high density polystyrene and resisting high temperatures without deforming.

The wire tensioning system maintains perfect symmetry with the work surface even on larger models and allows the operator to independently replace the wire and install wires of different diameters.

The electrical panel manages the automatic heating of the wire and the external potentiometer allows you to adjust the temperature manually if necessary. In this way the cuts are always clean and precise.

RM-PoliCut3D is available in 20 models with working volume from 1300 x 1300 x 1300 (H) mm up to 4200 x 3000 x 1300 (H) mm.

XMC 4.0 PoliCut HMI for Windows

XMC 4.0 PoliCut HMI is the operator interface for Windows® environment simple and intuitive that allows you to have under control all the commands necessary to pilot RM-PoliCut3D. Through the software interface it is possible to: import the machinings, analyze the project from the 2D/ 3D preview and start the machining. Through the integrated plug-in Analytics 4.0, all productivity and processing status data are managed and processed in real time.

Advanced wire cutting functions

2D wire cutting functions

Simple 2D shape cutting function with import of a .DXF file. RM-PoliCut3D automatically calculates the interconnection points, junctions, inputs and outputs of the wire.

2D wire cutting functions with plate

The flatter 2D cutting function allows you to create symmetrical 3D shapes by combining the two-dimensional cut with the rotating plate of the machine. Ideal for creating symmetrical three-dimensional solids.

2D wire cutting functions with lathe

The 2D cutting plus lathe function allows you to interpolate the RM-PoliCut3D lathe to create symmetrical three-dimensional objects of various lengths such as colonnades and cylindrical shapes.

Wire cutting with independent axes

Independent management of the axes X1Y1 right side and X2Y2 left side. This mode allows the creation of profiles such as: shapes with draft angle, projection letters and inclined cuts on irregular geometries.

3D wire cutting functions

XMC 4.0 PoliCut allows you to import and manage non-symmetrical 3D cutting projects with .STL files. By setting the three-dimensional cutting mode, RM-PoliCut3D can divide the solid into slices of configurable thickness or divide the solid into a number of sections established by the projection of the solid on a background.

4.0 Analytics: data analysis software

4.0 Analytics is the data analysis software for the Ronchini Massimo machines, which allows you to: monitor, store and export the productivity data of RM-PoliCut3D.

4.0 Analytics complies with Industry 4.0 standards and allows all Ronchini Massimo CNC machines to communicate with the main business management software, importing the data of: status, production and error generated by the CNC machine.

Interpolated and controlled rotating plate for processing colonnades and vases. Maximum workable diameter 1200 mm and maximum workable height 1200 mm.
