The process

“XMC 4.0 PoliCut” is a complete Motion Control solution that is able to drive numeric control wire cutting machines up to 6 interpolated axes. This is all you need to drive your wire cutting machine, with a kit containing a compact box and a simple user interface for Windows operating system.

Start drawing your project to work in 2D and 3D, using any type of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.

CAM/XMC 4.0

Import the processing file into the “XMC 4.0 Policut” and make small changes to the file, thanks to the CAM part of the software. XMC 4.0 will automatically generate the ISO code.

The Policut XMC 4.0 Box contains powerful electronics that can handle wire cutter up to 6 interpolated axes, with driver guidance in STEP / DIR mode. You can automatically manage the wire temperature with differential protection and manual controls for changing wire temperature and the axes speeds.

SIMPLE MACH CUT

The simple match function allows you to process simple cuts like a circle and a rectangle, without importing any external .DXF processing files.

2D CUT

Import the HPGL or DXF drawing into the software and within seconds the machine will be at work. Junction, interconnection points, inputs and outputs will all be determined by the software automatically.

TURNING TABLE + LATHE

The 2D profile function with flat or lathe allows you to cut three-dimensional and symmetrical objects, combining the 2D cut to the lathe or to the plate of the machine. This cutting strategy allows you to create three-dimensional solids without having to draw complicated 3D files. Just draw the profile in section and the cutting strategy will do the rest.

SLICED MACH STRATEGY

The sliced mach function allows you to create a sliced cutting path without importing .DXF files. You can manage the size of the block of material to be processed and then indicate the number and thickness of the slices to be obtained.

INDEPENDENT AXES

It is used to create silhouettes with a draft angle or letters in projection. This technique allows the XY right side and left side of the XY moving independently, by creating different profiles, extruded shapes and inclined cuts on non-regular geometries.

3D CUT

Starting with a 3D STL model, the XMC PoliCut software performs discretization of the solid and the machine takes care of the realization of the object.
